Danish Liverwurst is so common to eat in Denmark. We have it almost everyday. We can buy Danish liverwurst in any Danish grocery store. Danish liverwurst is such a delicious spread on rye bread with some cucumbers, pickles or pickled beets.
We recently received a YouTube subscriber request from Thiago Gandra to make homemade Danish liverwurst. So we are excited to share with you how to make Danish liverwurst recipe. Nothing is better than when something is homemade so we are excited to share with you a Danish liverwurst recipe.
♥ Ingredients ♥
1 lb chicken (or pork) liver
10 oz pork fat
1 medium onion
3 anchovies
1/4 cup flour
1/4 cup heavy cream
2 eggs
2 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
approx. 1/4 tsp allspice
3 slices of bacon
Add the liver, fat, onion and anchovies to the food processor. Pour it into a bowl and mix it with flour, cream, eggs, salt, pepper and allspice.
Pour it all into a buttered loaf pan, optional add the bacon on top and place it in a pan with water in the oven. Bake it for approx. 1 hour a 350F.
Let the liverwurst cool down and serve it on buttered rye bread with toppings.
Suggestions: Bacon, mushrooms, pickles, beets, red cabbage etc.
